ALSA Scheduling Coordinator REPORTS TO:
Director of Nursing SALARY CLASSIFICATION:
Non Exempt, 20 hours per week General Description:
This position is responsible for scheduling of the entire team of CNA's and nurses on the Assisted Living Team.
Manages call outs, time off requests, schedule changes, and overtime usage.
Resolves scheduling conflict issues to reach a positive outcome.
Responsible for weekly Payroll input for ALSA nursing department.
Responsible for scheduling the Resident cases and assigning appropriate care needed.
Essential Job Functions:
1.
Assumes responsibility for the scheduling of nursing personnel on all shifts through the development, preparation and maintenance of staffing schedules that meet the needs of the facility and state requirements.
2.
Enters schedule changes to master schedule.
3.
Approves time off and extra shift requests with approval of DNS or designee.
4.
Effectively communicates with Nurse Managers and Supervisors to determine staffing needs.
Assigns personnel and makes adjustments to staffing patterns to provide safe and equitable coverage.
5.
Ensures all schedules are posted per time line by holding all staff accountable for the submission of time requests, changes, and draft schedules in a timely manner.
6.
Records all information in a clear and organized method and keeps all nursing demographics updated and current.
7.
Maintains established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
Demonstrates flexibility in work hours to meet departmental needs.
8.
Participates in the orientation of all nursing personnel to the scheduling practices and guidelines.
9.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature and workshops.
10.
Monitors staff overtime and minimizes usage.
11.
Prepares weekly payroll input for ALSA nursing employees.
12.
Performs any other job related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary as directed by Supervisor.

Qualifications:
1.
High School graduate, or GED 2.
Experience in customer service related field.
3.
Experience in staffing schedules.

1.
Assumes responsibility for scheduling all Healthcare nursing personnel, providing for adequate, safe staffing levels and timely postings.
2.
Tracks nursing demographics, updating records as needed.
3.
Complies with facility policy as it relates to call outs, vacation, time off requests, over time, and pay differences such as shift and quarterly bonuses, shift differentials.
4.
Documents accurately all payroll information for processing Healthcare nursing employees paychecks.
5.
Assists in clerical duties within the dept such as filings, mailings, copying etc.
6.
Arranges consults appointments in a timely manner, arranges transportation, and schedules an aide when needed to accompany resident as indicated by Nurse Manager.
7.
Communicates all scheduled appointments to appropriate unit in a timely manner.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
