Director of Housekeeping and Laundry REPORTS TO:
Director of Environmental Services with a line to the Administrator of Health Services & Administrator of Independent Living SALARY CLASSIFICATION:
Salary, Exempt General Description:
Provides supervision for laundry, housekeeping and custodial services at facility to ensure resident and employee satisfaction.
Implements business practices in order to uphold Elim Park's mission and values.
Contributes to account revenue and operating profit through the implementation of cost saving measures, and efficient operation practices, that support Elim Park's financial growth strategy.
Essential Job Functions:
1.
Plans projects, including defining objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support strategic plan.
2.
Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery.
3.
Takes a hospitality focused approach to everything with a positive and proactive attitude.
4.
Supervises staff, directs daily custodial operations to ensure employees have appropriate equipment and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.
5.
Supervises staff, directs daily laundry service operations to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, training and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.
6.
Interviews, assists in the hiring process.
7.
Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate resource when necessary.
8.
Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.
9.
Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate.
10.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as facility policies and procedures (e.
g.
quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel).
11.
Establishes a safe work environment for employees by providing safety-related training and equipment maintenance and by ensuring compliance with safety and loss prevention programs and with standards and procedures for the handling and storage of hazardous materials and/or waste.
12.
Manages the budget by controlling costs (e.
g.
labor, inventory, equipment, materials), complying with budget requirements and making adjustments when necessary.
13.
Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.
14.
Ensures housekeeping, laundry and custodial service activities are performed according to standards and regulatory requirements.
15.
Behaves as a team member and leader.
Motivates and encourage all team members, and assist with the day to day processes in accordance with the company procedures.
16.
Performs other job related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Legal Age:
18 years old Education or Equivalent
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
Supervisor/Managerial
Experience:
3-5 years of lead supervisory/management experience.
Function Specific
Experience:
3-5 years related work experience.
Certification Requirements:
None, 10 hour OSHA certificate preferred.
Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) highly preferred.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
Ability to present information on one-on-one and small group situations to residents, guests and employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to perform those operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
