We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our organization as the Manager of Facilities & Engineering.
As the Manager of Facilities & Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our facilities and engineering operations, ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of our physical infrastructure and engineering systems.
You will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to optimize our facilities performance, enhance operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities management, engineering, and leadership, with a proven track record of success in managing large-scale facilities and complex engineering systems.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities and engineering strategy aligned with the organizations goals and objectives.
Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the facilities and engineering teams, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in facilities management and engineering, integrating new technologies and innovations into operations.
Facilities Management:
Oversee the planning, construction, renovation, and maintenance of all company facilities, including offices, manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, retail plazas, and supermarkets.
Lead local and state Planning and Zoning, Land Use, and Building permitting for all company locations.
Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure the proper functioning of all facilities, including refrigeration, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, security systems, and other critical infrastructure.
Monitor and manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements to ensure service quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Implement and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees.
Implement and maintain food safety and quality policies and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Administer energy procurement and contracts for company locations.
Oversee Emergency Response Operations related to distribution facility refrigeration systems.
Coordinate and manage emergency and restoration operations related to storm events, loss of power, flooding, and/or other events for all company locations to ensure public and employee safety and to minimize the impact on operations.
Manage facility-related insurance loss-prevention initiatives to include physical structures and equipment, and human element programs to reduce overall risk exposure.
Develop and execute logistic requirements for company charitable and special event functions.
Manage the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of engineering systems, such as production equipment, utilities, and automation systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and technology upgrades to enhance productivity and quality.
Provide design and development support for company retail operations to include supermarkets and other food service businesses.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards and industry best practices in engineering operations.
Lead efforts to optimize energy usage, reduce waste, and implement sustainable practices across facilities and engineering operations.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
Develop and manage the facilities and engineering budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control measures.
Identify and evaluate opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the performance of facilities and engineering operations, including key metrics and KPIs.
Team Development and Management:
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of facilities and engineering professionals.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Promote professional development and training opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
A Masters degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in facilities management, engineering, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements including PSM, RMP, HACCP, and FSMA programs.
Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale facilities and complex engineering systems.
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans and drive operational excellence.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy management is a plus.
Professional certifications in facilities management or engineering are desirable.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
